Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program
Course Description:
This 300-hour, 10-week course is designed to prepare students
to enter the Health Care Industry with the skills and knowledge
necessary to obtain State certification. This program emphasizes
employability and occupation-related reading and math skills.
We strongly emphasize empathy. Professionally trained Registered
Nurses teach a combination of lectures, demonstrations, return
demonstrations, and videos. This program is closely monitored
by the State Board of Health, which mandates that all teaching
standards be followed. Students will participate in a supervised
job search activity. During that time, they receive guidance,
direction, and encouragement from the staff of Dorson Vocational
Training Institute (DVTI) developers. Each student will develop
a structured job search plan of action that will extend beyond

with potential employers, and possible on-site recruitment might
occur.
